MAGIC DISCRIMINATION CASE DROPPED FOR LACK OF EVIDENCE

     FL Judge Linda Gloeckner threw out George Scholz's race-
discrimination lawsuit against the Magic on Friday, citing
"insufficient evidence."  The decision ended a month-long trial
in "which Scholz's lawyers tried to prove that the Magic fired
Scholz solely to replace him with a black assistant coach."
Scholz said he will not drop his suit and "intends to appeal the
decision" (Gene Yasuda, ORLANDO SENTINEL, 2/10).  In a statement,
the Magic said "We are pleased that the court has dismissed the
case ... we have believed that the case was without merit"
(Magic).
