CADILLAC EXTENDS DEAL WITH SENIOR PGA TOUR

GM's Cadillac division and the PGA Tour have extended their
relationship through the year 2000. The deal will continue the
Cadillac Senior PGA Tour Series, a group of events within the
Senior Tour in which players compile points for a chance to win
Cadillac vehicles. Cadillac has been involved with the Senior
Tour since '90. ESPN will cover the series (Wes Raynal, DETROIT
NEWS, 1/31).
GOLF POLICE: Callaway Golf has reached a settlement with a
FL-based retailer, Golf Depot, after suing them for selling
"knockoffs" of its Big Bertha club. Callaway obtained a
temporary order last June stopping the sale of the clubs after
using a private detective to buy look-alike clubs at a Golf depot
store (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 1/31).
CLUBS, CAMERA, ACTION! If upcoming golf movies -- "Tin Cup"
starring Kevin Costner, and "Happy Gilmore" with Adam Sandler --
are successful, they could start production of a string of golf
films. The current GOLFWEEK notes that Warner Bros., 20th
Century Fox and Crystal Pictures all have scripts ready for other
golf movies (GOLFWEEK, 1/27 issue).
