SPRINT INKS AD DEAL WITH SPORTS ILLUSTRATED AROUND NCAA

     Sprint signed a deal with Sports Illustrated to sponsor a
series of two-page advertorials titled "Sprint in Touch With NCAA
Basketball," according to INSIDE MEDIA.  Sprint Asst Marketing
Manager Steve Sewell said the six-issue commitment began with the
current swimsuit issue and lasts through the NCAA men's college
hoops tournament.  On one side of the page will be a college
basketball coach who "will discuss how he keeps in touch with ex-
players."  On the other page will be a "promo for 'Sprint
Sense,'" the company's calling plan for residential long-distance
customers (Brockinton & Reynolds, INSIDE MEDIA, 1/24 issue).
