MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

     Larry Johnson will debut in his first commercial for "And 1"
basketball apparel.  He will be featured as a camp counselor
explaining the game to young people.  The spot is produced by The
Brownstein Group Advertising & Public Relations and Fireside
Productions.  Featured products include branded t-shirts with And
1's new logo and a new line of "League" t-shirts available in
early spring.   The spot debuts on TNT and TBS NBA broadcasts on
February 12 (AND 1)....Reebok releases its latest earning figures
today, with numbers expected to be low after the company has
"worked hard to ratchet down expectations" (BOSTON GLOBE,
1/30)....Starwave will use Java technology in a new service
featuring a running ticker of sports scores.  Marketers will be
able to sponsor an Olympics-related "ScorePost" for $10,000 a
week.  Starwave predicts 1 million impressions per week on such a
site (AD AGE ONLINE, 1/30)....Hershey sponsors the $1 Million Pro
Bowl kick sweepstakes, sending one New York man to Hawaii to
attempt a 35-yard field goal at the Pro Bowl for $1M.  The
halftime kick will be aired live on ABC (ProServ)....Ace Hardware
has signed a three-year deal with Dorna USA to advertise on
AdTime rotational systems at MLB parks (Dorna)....Int'l Creative
Management has formed a new Sports Celebrity Dept.  Marc Perman
heads up the division, which represents Charles Barkley, Deion
Sanders, George Foreman and Shaquille O'Neal (ICM).
