HEAT TO FOLLOW PANTHERS TO BROWARD?

     The chance that the Heat will move to a new arena in Broward
County in '98 "has gone from long shot to likely," according to
the MIAMI HERALD's Amy Shipley.  In an article imploring Miami to
build a new arena or else face the prospect of losing the team,
Shipley reports while Broward communities are "falling over
themselves to make arena proposals, politicians in Miami are
falling asleep."  Heat VP Pauline Winick:  "Broward County is
further along the road to providing a satisfactory home for
professional basketball or hockey."  The stumbling block remains
Metro commissioners' resistance to taxes (MIAMI HERALD, 1/28).
