     MICHAEL JORDAN dismissed rumors he will participate in the
'96 Dream Team at the urging of his sponsors.  Jordan: "The only
way I would be participating is for the hype.  I'm trying to cut
back some of my time already" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 1/24)....BOOMER
ESIASON was named the True Value NFL Man of the Year for his work
with cystic fibrosis (USA TODAY, 1/24)....Vikings QB WARREN MOON
is "not being singled out" because of his "sports celebrity
status," according to prosecutors in Fort Bend County, TX, who
have refused to drop the domestic violence case against him.
Moon's wife FELICIA, has filed several motions asking that
subpoenas ordering her testimony and the testimony of her eight-
year-old son be quashed.  A trial is scheduled for February 13
(HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 1/24)....DON KING said he plans on holding
another major event in Philadelphia sometime during the first
half of '96 (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 1/24).
