ESPN2 READY TO REV UP NEW AUTO RACING SHOW

     ESPN2 will introduce "RPM 2Night," a 30-minute weekday
motorsports news and highlights program, on February 7 at 7pm ET.
The show will air Monday-Friday, usually at 7pm, and be hosted by
John Kernan, an ESPN NASCAR pit reporter and motorsports
commentator since '90.  The show debuts live from Speedweeks at
Daytona International Raceway from February 7-16 then will move
to studios in Fort Mill, SC, at ESPN subsidiary Creative Sports.
"RPM 2Night" will feature personalities, trends, economics and
new technology from NASCAR, IndyCar, Forumla One, and other
motorsports.  Producer Shawn Murphy:  "We want to do it all -- be
topical, cover issues, explain the technology and have some fun,
showing the driver as people away from the track" (ESPN2).
     HERE'S THE DEAL: ESPN Int'l and IndyCar reached a deal by
which Eurosport will continue its live coverage of IndyCar Series
racing in '96 and '97, including the new U.S. 500.  Eurosport
will carry all 15 IndyCar races this year and the entire 16-event
campaign in '97 (ESPN).
