     Despite saying he wouldn't return because of a pay cut, Sean
McDonough has reached agreement to broadcast Red Sox games next
season on WABU-TV.  McDonough earned approximately $300,000 last
season from WSBK-TV (BOSTON GLOBE, 1/21)....Former A's pitcher
Ron Darling will work A's pre-and post-game shows on
SportsChannel Pacific this season (N.Y. DAILY NEWS,
1/20)....NBA's "Inside Stuff" featured the new Michael Jordan
Nike commercial, which leaves him hanging from a 100 foot basket
("Inside Stuff," 1/20)....Jay Leno announced that the "Tonight
Show" will broadcast from Phoenix this week (NBC, 1/19)....NFL
Films' show on the Pop Warner title game gets a "thumbs up" from
Michael Hiestand.  The NBC telecast drew a 2.2 overnight,
outdrawing a CBS college hoops doubleheader (USA TODAY,
1/22).....TCI and a group including MCI and News Corp. will "be
among the bidders for the last remaining licenses to offer
nationwide satellite TV service" (WASHINGTON POST, 1/20).
