Published January 22, 1996
Angels Owner Gene Autry, after selling 25% of the Angels to Disney, said he and his wife intend to remain as involved with the team as they were before the sale. But Disney Sports is expected to engage in a "wide-ranging front-office purge" (Baltimore SUN, 1/21)....On Tuesday, officials will begin processing PSL requests in Nashville. More than 1.7 million applications were distributed and the city must sell $71M worth of PSLs by February 15 in order to meet the conditions of the Oilers' deal (AP/ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 1/21)....The Devil Rays are about to open bidding with concessionaires for operation of ThunderDome concession stands, retail shops, novelty stands and restaurants. The team is also preparing to solicit bids for Dome construction and local TV (ST. PETE TIMES, 1/21).
