FRANCHISE NOTES: AFTERMATH OF DISNEY'S ANGELS PURCHASE

     Angels Owner Gene Autry, after selling 25% of the Angels to
Disney, said he and his wife intend to remain as involved with
the team as they were before the sale.  But Disney Sports is
expected to engage in a "wide-ranging front-office purge"
(Baltimore SUN, 1/21)....On Tuesday, officials will begin
processing PSL requests in Nashville.  More than 1.7 million
applications were distributed and the city must sell $71M worth
of PSLs by February 15 in order to meet the conditions of the
Oilers' deal (AP/ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 1/21)....The Devil Rays
are about to open bidding with concessionaires for operation of
ThunderDome concession stands, retail shops, novelty stands and
restaurants.  The team is also preparing to solicit bids for Dome
construction and local TV (ST. PETE TIMES, 1/21).
