NFL TESTING CHILDREN SHOWS TO AIR IN FALL

The NFL is testing six TV concepts aimed at kids "with plans
to choose one to launch on Saturday morning or weekday afternoon
on network TV in the fall," according to Jeff Jensen of AD AGE.
The league plans on a 30-minute program to target "various
segments of the kids and teens demographic." Prototypes include
two cartoon series and a "relaunch" of the cartoon "Grunt &
Punt," which ran on Fox in '94. NFL Properties is working on the
project under supervision of NFLP VP/Business Development Don
Garber. Garber said a show ABC, NBC, Fox, Turner, or on
Nickelodeon, and that they would like to "handle marketing for
the shows" and sell packages to NFL sponsors (ADVERTISING AGE,
