     The Magic's DENNIS SCOTT will co-produce and act in the
film, "Shooting from the Heart," a true story about a coach who
turns kids from the streets into a winning team (USA TODAY,
1/16)....BILL GOODSTEIN, agent for such players as Darryl
Strawberry and Dave Righetti, died Saturday after collapsing at
his Manhattan office.  He was 56 (N.Y. TIMES, 1/16)....Former MLB
star STEVE SAX announced he is dropping out of the race for the
4th Assembly District in CA.  Sax, a Republican, announced his
intention to enter the race last April (Mult., 1/13)....The
family of DON MATTINGLY calls reports he is interested in running
for Congress in Indiana just a rumor (WASHINGTON POST,
1/14)....JERRY SOLOMON and P.S./StarGames are profiled in
Sunday's BOSTON GLOBE.  David Halbfinger writes, "Where other
agents see TV commercials and autograph signings, Solomon sees
home videos, CD-ROMs and themed entertainment" (BOSTON GLOBE,
1/14).
