NAMES IN THE NEWS

     ESPN reported that JIMMY JOHNSON's coaching contract with
the Dolphins is for four years at $8M, with no bonuses or
incentives.  He will be the highest paid NFL coach.  ESPN's Chris
Mortensen:  "Don't forget, I think Jimmy Johnson is going to make
a lot of money in TV, radio, and marketing endorsements off the
field.  Maybe as much as $2 million" ("SportsCenter," 1/11).
Johnson discussed the move on HBO's "Inside the NFL," his now-
former show (HBO, 1/11); while Huizenga was interviewed on
"Moneyline" (CNN, 1/11). ....SHAQUILLE O'NEAL issued a statement
on his girlfriend and their expected child:  "We've been planning
our future together.  Babies, picket fences, models, great free-
throw shooters" (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 1/12)....The "Where Are They
Now?" segment on "Inside the NFL" last night focused on former
Bengal REGGIE WILLIAMS, now Disney VP of Sports Marketing.
Williams:  "The unique distinction between being a champion and
being a loser is one of the compelling missions we have here at
Disney.  We want to even the scales of justice between winning
and losing" (HBO, 1/11).
