     Fox claims Nielsen ratings for "several key shows" at its
WLUK affiliate in Green Bay are "out of line, and they may
contest the November sweeps ratings book" (REUTER/DAILY VARIETY,
12/21)....Speaking yesterday in Australia, News Corp.'s Rupert
Murdoch said weakness in major U.S. markets will contribute to a
drop in News Corp.'s  half-year profits.  Murdoch said the
performance of Fox U.S. markets was "very mixed, with southern
California soft but other small markets across the country
performing well."  Murdoch: "Southern California is very bad. ...
New York is not so hot but the East Coast is otherwise good --
