USOC CLEARS WAY FOR HYBL AFTER ETHICS PROBE
The USOC announced that its Ethics Oversight Committee has found no negative ethical issues related to the 1996 presidential candidacy of William Hybl (USOC). However, the Committee did recommend two members of the USOC nominating committee resign so as to ensure the appearance of fairness resulting from grants made by the El Pomar Foundation, which Hybl chairs (Christine Brennan, WASHINGTON POST, 12/20). Hybl: "My candidacy is not predicated by who's on the nominating committee. It's about the programs and vision I can bring to the USOC" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 12/20).
