THIS CHRISTMAS ISN'T A DRAG FOR THE JAGS -- SALES ARE UP

Sales totals for Jaguars merchandise have moved from 12th to
10th in the NFL, as holiday shoppers are seeing a broader variety
of the team's merchandise on the shelves this year, according to
the FLORIDA TIMES-UNION. Earl Daniels reports the team's dispute
with the Jaguar car company over its logo meant there was not
enough time to get the new logoed merchandise on shelves last
year. Lee Earls, JCPenney's Jacksonville Special Events Manager:
"It's been a new part of the market that didn't exist last year."
One local JCPenney store has devoted the entire end of one level
to Jaguars merchandise. Retail sales of NFL merchandise will hit
$3.1B in '96 (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 12/19).
