     In St. Louis, Rick Hummel notes the sale of the Cardinals is
not moving along as planned and that Anheuser-Busch may have the
team for another season (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 12/17)....The
Flyers hold a press conference today to announce details of their
new AHL team which will play in the CoreStates Spectrum next
season (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 12/18)....More than 2,000 new
accounts have been opened since the Save Our Stallions season-
ticket campaign began in Baltimore (Baltimore SUN,
12/16)....ESPN's Chris Mortensen examined the media swirl
surrounding the Cowboys after two straight losses.  One Cowboys
player was quoted as saying Jerry Jones' off-the-field deals
"have turned America's Team into, 'Barnum & Bailey'" (ESPN,
12/17).
