FRANCHISE NOTES: ICE DOGS EXPECTED TO BE SOLD

     The IHL L.A. Ice Dogs are expected to be sold to TV producer
Barry Kemp in a deal that could be completed next week.  Sources
say the team will play in the Long Beach Sports Arena next season
(L.A. TIMES, 12/13)....The CFL Rough Riders dismissed CEO Al
Howell Tuesday (OTTAWA CITIZEN, 12/13)....A report in the TORONTO
SUN notes that while Senators Owner Rod Bryden is looking to take
less of a role with the team, he is not ready to relinquish
control of the team.  He denies rumors that Ogden Entertainment
will take control for him (TORONTO SUN, 12/13).
