EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

     Former Blue Jay GM PAT GILLICK was named GM of the Orioles
yesterday (Mult., 11/28).  After Gillick's hiring, it was learned
that O's Asst GM FRANK ROBINSON offered his resignation several
weeks ago, but Owner PETER ANGELOS would not accept it.
Robinson, who praised Gillick's hiring, said it was likely he
would soon resign (Baltimore SUN, 11/28). ....Easton promoted
MIKE VAN ALSTYNE to VP/Sales.  He had   previously served as
National Sales Manager (Easton).... According to Minneapolis STAR
TRIBUNE's Sid Hartman, a leading candidate for Twins VP/Marketing
is local "advertising genius" BILL HILLSMAN.  While working for
Sen. Paul Wellstone's senate campaign, Hillsman wrote the
politically famous "Looking for Rudy" TV ads (STAR TRIBUNE,
11/27)....JEFF JORDAN has been promoted to VP & CFO of The Disney
Store (L.A. BUSINESS JOURNAL, 11/13 issue)....ANDREW GURTIS has
been named Dir of Licensing for Int'l Speedway Corp.  Gurtis was
marketing director.  BARBARA LAWRENCE replaces Gurtis as director
(AUTOWEEK, 11/27 issue).
