COMING UP ROSES CLOSE TO HOME: ROSE GARDEN TO GET NIKETOWN

     Portland's Rose Garden arena will be the first venue to get
a NikeTown store, as the company plans to open a "Niketown Field
House" in the facility by January 15.  The 2,000 square-foot
store will be the fifth NikeTown, and according to the OREGONIAN,
it will "rotate its merchandise to correspond with events" at the
arena.  The store will also offer on-line product ordering to
arena suite holders.  NikeTown stores are also planned for L.A.,
New York, Seattle, and San Francisco in '96 (OREGONIAN, 11/22).
     SPEAKING OF NIKE:  Mavericks Guard Jason Kidd says he will
debut his new Nike "Air Zoom" shoe during the team's game
Thursday with Orlando (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 11/27).
