EARLY RATINGS COMPARISON IN TORONTO PLACES HOCKEY UP

     In Toronto last Tuesday, the Raptors and Maple Leafs went
head-to-head during prime-time for the first time, according to
William Houston of the GLOBE & MAIL.  The Leafs were at home
against the Mighty Ducks with a 7:30pm EST start, while the
Raptors were in Chicago to play the Bulls at 8:30pm EST.  The
Leafs "won the night, drawing an average 18-year-old plus
audience of 367,000.  But the Raptors drew 300,000 (Toronto GLOBE
AND MAIL, 11/14).
     EMPIRE GOES HOOPS: Buffalo's Empire Sports Network and the
Raptors announced a four-year deal covering at least 23 regular-
season and available post-season games (Empire).
