EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

     Converse has hired MARK GOLDSTON, former President and COO
of L.A. Gear, as a consultant.  He will help with marketing and
other strategic issues (BOSTON GLOBE, 11/11). ....GARRY HUNSIKER,
Mets Asst VP/Baseball Ops, was named GM for the Astros in a
three-year deal.  Other changes at the Astros include FRED NELSON
named as Special Assistant to the GM, TREY WILKINSON named Admin
Asst for Player Development, and DAN O'BRIEN overseeing scouting
and player development (Astros)....The Sports Authority named
SUMIO NAKAGAWA as President of Mega Sports Co., which will do
business in Japan (TSA)....TOM GARRITY, Director of Sales at the
U/MN's Athletic Department, has resigned to become Dir of Sales &
Marketing with the AFL Fighting Pike (Minneapolis STAR-TRIBUNE,
11/12)....BILL MAZEROSKI is among 27 people named by Pittsburgh
Mayor TOM MURPHY to the Forbes Field II task force on a new
ballpark (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 11/13).
