"There's no escape from Nike World."  Current Adidas/former Nike
employee Sonny Vaccaro suggests Nike could someday be to the
sports industry what Bill Gates and Microsoft have become to
computers.  Vaccaro:  "Gates might have given Phil Knight some
ideas: 'Rub out your competition, keep the best of the best, and
just do it'" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 11/12).... International
Healthcare Distributors, the Clearwater, FL, firm that sells
"Go!," a sports drink invented by the founder of Gatorade, goes
public Tuesday (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 11/11)....No Fear, Preferred
Health and Auto Zone have reached agreements to advertise on
Dorna USA's rotational signage system in NBA arenas for '95-96.
Other Dorna renewals: Foot Locker, Subway, Leaf, Starter,
Modell's, IBM, AT&T, Duraflame, Norelco, Ameritech, United
Airlines, Sears, Miller, Pro Player, Nobody Beats the Wiz, and
Bell Atlantic (Dorna)....Jay Leno, on the recent condom ads seen
over stadiums:  "When you consider what Art Modell is doing to
Cleveland right now, I think condoms are very appropriate"
("Tonight Show," NBC, 11/10)...."NBA Inside Stuff" profiled the
Michael Jordan Golf Center in Aurora, IL.  Jordan said the
reasoning behind the center is to give "everybody a chance to
understand the game of golf."  Jordan: "I'm just trying to
provide an opportunity for kids to have other options" ("Inside
Stuff," 11/11)....Sega will reportedly announce plans today to
create an independent software company to develop multi-player
games for personal computers and Sega machines (N.Y. TIMES,
11/13).
