CHRIS BERMAN and AL MICHAELS were voted sportscasters of the year by the American Sportscasters Association. Michaels was honored for play-by-play and Berman as a studio host (WASHINGTON POST, 10/20)....Heat Owner MICKY ARISON's Carnival Air will merge with Mercury Air Group, a Los Angeles aviation services firm (MIAMI HERALD, 10/19).... Many surviving Negro League players, including HANK AARON, will be in Kansas City October 27-29 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Negro League's founding (Negro Leagues Baseball Museum)....MARTINA NAVRATILOVA, BILLIE JEAN KING and CHRIS EVERT were feature attractions at the Virginia Slims Legends' "Meet the Players" AIDS benefit in Houston. The event garnered $50,000 (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 10/17).... ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY's 6th annual list of Hollywood's most powerful players hits newsstands Monday. At the top of the list is Disney Chair MICHAEL EISNER (USA TODAY, 10/20).... MIKE TYSON has bought a house for $2.05M in Bethesda, MD.
