Published August 16, 1995
Dolphins reserve QB BERNIE KOSAR has started his own greeting card business. Kosar, Chair of Bernie Kosar Greeting Cards Co., will introduce the first officially licensed NFL greeting cards ever produced. For $2, fans will be able to buy cards with the 30 NFL teams, and 20 of the top college programs. Seven years ago, Kosar formed a patnership with a man who owns 10 Hallmark stores, and their businesss continued to grow. Now the cards will be test marketed at local Sports Authority and JC Penney stores. One example: "Happy Birthday to my favorite Redskins fan! Hope you have a winning birthday." Kosar is happy with the venture, and they are thinking of producing music related cards. Kosar: "MEATLOAF has talked to us about getting involved" (Armando Salguero, MIAMI HERALD, 8/16).
