AVALANCHE SIGNS FIRST CORPORATE PARTNER; ICE DOGS INK TOYOTA

     Officials from Plank Road Brewery, a division of Miller
Brewing Co., and COMSAT announced yesterday that Plank Road has
become the first corporate partner of the Colorado Avalanche.
The agreement calls for Plank Road's Icehouse and Red Dog beers
to be exclusive malt beverage sponsors of the NHL team.  It also
includes advertising on the team's radio and TV networks, in-
arena signage and video spots  inside McNichols Arena, print ads
in team publications, and other promotional opportunities (Miller
Brewing).
     NEW TEAM, NEW CAR:  The IHL L.A. Ice Dogs have announced a
multi-year sponsorship agreement with Toyota and Southern CA
Toyota Dealers, including signage, broadcasting ads, promotional
tie-ins and official car status (Ice Dogs).
     MLBPA AND USA BASEBALL:  USA Baseball has signed the Major
League Baseball Players Association as a partner, with the MLBPA
to sponsor the '95 USA Baseball Salute to Excellence Awards
Program (USA Baseball).
     ROTATING SIGNS:  Dorna USA has reached agreement with
Washington Sports and the Capitals to lease and maintain AdTime
rotational dasher board signage system at USAir Arena next
season.  The Caps are the fourth NHL team to sign with Dorna USA,
joining the Stars, Whalers, and Lightning.  Dorna hopes to sign
as many as 12 NHL teams next season (Dorna).
