MEDIA NOTES

     Princeton Electronic Billboards used its video insertion
system for the first time in over-the-air TV during the Parmalat
Cup soccer tournament earlier this month.  The Parmalat logo was
placed in the center circle of kickoffs and after each goal
during live broadcasts back to Italy (PEB)....The five-month old
PATRIOTS FOOTBALL WEEKLY, published by the team, is now third in
the NFL in circulation with 40,000 subscribers.  Only the Cowboys
and Giants have larger circulations for their weeklies.  Also,
the team is now on the internet (Will McDonough, BOSTON GLOBE,
8/13)....Sunshine Network and FSU have agreed to a four-year deal
to broadcast selected football, basketball, baseball and other
varsity sports.  The deal will include women's sports
programming.  Sunshine has broadcast FSU sports since '88
(Sunshine)....CBC "Hockey Night in Canada" Broadcaster Don Cherry
will release his first CD-ROM this fall featuring highlights from
Cherry's videos and hockey trivia (GLOBE & MAIL, 8/12)....New
York's WFAN has extended its contract to broadcast the Jets
through the '98 season (N.Y. POST, 8/14)....ESPN2 will broadcast
Monica Seles' return to tournament tennis with her first round
match at the Canadian Open Tuesday at 7pm EST (ESPN).
