EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

     JEFFREY SHEETS will take over as Research and Development
Dir at Top-Flite Golf Club Co., Spalding's newly formed
subsidiary.  STEVE MAHAFFEY, who was head of R&D, has been
promoted to Dir of Product Engineering and Quality Control (GOLF
WEEK, 8/12)....DAVID WILSON has been named Exec Sports Editor of
the MIAMI HERALD (MIAMI HERALD, 8/13). ...The Salt Lake Olympic
Organizing Committee will keep  FRANK JOKLIK as Chair, TOM WELCH
as President & CEO, and DAVE JOHNSON as Senior VP.  Salaries have
yet to be determined, but internal documents project the
president's salary at $380,000/year (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 8/13).
