BIRDS OF A FEATHER? TIGERS AND LIONS EXPLORE JOINT STADIUM

     The Tigers and Lions have "renewed" talks for a joint joint
stadium as their individual efforts have "faltered" in recent
weeks, according to CRAIN'S DETROIT BUSINESS.  Silverdome Exec
Dir Eric Walker said talks have stalled between the Lions and the
city of Pontiac as the Lions are looking to take over management
of the Silverdome.  The Tigers no longer have the hope of using
casino revenue to help finance a downtown stadium as Gov. John
Engler prohibited an expansion of gambling into Detroit.  The
"common necessity" for additional revenue has brought the teams
back together after some preliminary "get-acquainted" meetings in
March (CRAIN'S DETROIT BUSINESS, 7/17 issue).
