MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

     The Tennis Industry Association will run a series of public
service announcements to promote the game.  The 15-second PSA's
feature Michael Chang and the Jensen brothers and will run
nationwide next month.  The spots will be produced with
manufacturers and retailers and will feature the telephone
numbers of local tennis facilities in each city....Reebok Int'l
has been named the official footwear sponsor of the Silver
Bullets....Wilshire Fragrence Inc. plans to launch a NASCAR
cologne in August (SPORTING GOODS BUSINESS, 7/95 issue)....The
Action Sports Retailer trade expo will be held from September 8-
10 in San Diego (Action Sports). ....To commemorate the debuts of
the Panthers and Jaguars in the Hall of Fame Game on July 29, the
Hall is issuing special oversized tickets with the teams' helmets
and the phrase, "The Tradition Begins" (NEWSDAY, 7/15).... When
the Diamondbacks begin play at the new Bank One Ballpark in
Phoenix, announcers must say "Another Bank One boomer" when a
home run is hit.  That practice follows Whataburger, a local AZ
burger chain which helped finance America West Arena.  Now, Suns
announcers must say "What a Shot! What a burger!" when a player
hits a three point shot (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL,
7/19)....Teams representing U.S. and int'l cities will be in
Philadelphia for the third annual Reviving Baseball in the Inner
Cities (RBI) World Series from August 8-12 at Veterans Stadium.
The event is sponsored by MLB, in conjunction with the National
Sporting Goods Manufacturing Association and the Phillies (MLB).
