"CAN YOU 'SPOT' ME?" -- JAGUARS HOPE FANS CAN

The Jaguars are asking fans to use "Spot Cards" at upcoming
games this season. The cards are cash valued cards being offered
by the Jaguars and First Union National Bank. Team officials say
it is the first time "such cards have been offered to fans of a
professional sports team," as the cards resemble credit cards and
come in $20, $50, and $100 denominations. They "can be used to
purchase concessions and merchandise," as it "deducts its stored
value when it is scanned through a machine after a customer's
purchase." The team is hoping fans use the system to speed up
time in concession lines -- a card transaction takes
approximately five seconds to process. Spot cards can be
purchased at First Union until the start of the season, at which
point they will become available at four areas outside the
stadium. First Union will also provide cards in Atlanta for the
'96 Games (Earl Daniels, FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 7/15).
