     Chicago's CBS affiliate, WBBM-TV, has signed a multi-year
agreement with Creative Sports to broadcast seven Big 10 football
telecasts annually.  Illinois will be featured six times and
Northwestern twice.  The contract also includes several Illinois
and Northwestern basketball games (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 7/12)....Two
reports this morning examine the scramble among on-line companies
such as Prodigy and America Online to hold customers as AT&T and
Microsoft prepare to enter the market (WALL STREET JOURNAL, USA
TODAY, 7/12)....Instant Sports, of Austin, TX, is offering
baseball updates and play-by-play on the Web.  Address:
http://www. Instant sports.com....Prime Sports will broadcast 22
hours of live and broadcast coverage of the U.S. Olympic Festival
in Denver.  The coverage will run July 22-30 (GOULD MEDIA,
7/11)....TNT will air three new NFL specials throughout next
season.  "Joe Montana, The Fire Inside," a one-hour documentary
on the former QB, airs September 12; "Six Days to Sunday,"
featuring an inside look at two teams' week of preparation for a
game, airs November 15; and a Super Bowl XXX special runs next
January (Turner)....Walt Disney, Ameritech, Bell South and SBC
Communications reportedly have narrowed their candidate search to
head their new Cable venture to Sony Television Entertainment
President Mel Harris, and Fox President for Network Distribution
Preston Padden (USA TODAY, 7/12)....Nancy Kerrigan will headline
a Halloween on Ice Special this fall on TNT (Turner)....NBC has
reached a 10-year agreement with New World Communications Group
to produce television programming for syndication (CHICAGO
TRIBUNE, 7/12).
