ACOG FACING COMPLAINTS OVER BORG-WARNER SPONSORSHIP

ACOG is facing increasing international pressure to review,
and possibly terminate, Borg-Warner's sponsorship of the '96
Games. The dispute stems form an organizing campaign by the
Teamsters union at a Borg-Warner subsidiary, Pony Express Courier
Corp. which is facing more than 100 federal charges of labor law
violations. ACOG Spokeswoman Donna Johnson said they would not
get involved in what they see as an "issue between a subsidiary
of Borg-Warner and the labor unions" (Richard Greer, ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 7/12).
ALSO: The ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION has signed a letter
of intent to become a licensee of ACOP. Under the agreement, the
paper may produce T-shirts, coffee mugs, hats, lapel pins, and
other merchandise primarily featuring text and graphics
reproduced from the news pages (Melissa Turner, ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 7/12).
