     The Baltimore CFL Football Club announced they are changing
their name to the Stallions.  Although the NFL owns the trademark
rights to the name, Stallions Owner Jim Speros does not
anticipate any legal fight from the league.  NFL Dir of
Communications Greg Aiello said the NFL is "not planning on
taking steps involving the CFL team's use of the name" (Baltimore
SUN, 7/8)....Cadillac signed a three-year deal with Integrated
Sports Int'l aimed "at enhancing worldwide name recognition" (AD
AGE ONLINE, 7/10)....The corporate sponsorship of the Cape Cod
summer baseball league was profiled by the BOSTON GLOBE.  Kevin
Cullen writes that sponsorship has been done "gracefully ...
allowing in just enough to pay the bills, keeping the focus on
baseball" (BOSTON GLOBE, 7/9)....Although Coors' second-quarter
dip in profits has "increased the odds" that their Zima drink may
be dropped, BUSINESS WEEK reports the "evidence is that the
embattled brand will survive, at least for now" (BUSINESS WEEK,
7/17 issue)....MLB ran a full page ad in USA TODAY promoting the
All-Star Game with a "Welcome to the Show" tagline (USA TODAY,
7/10)....The marketing challenges facing the Devils Rays and
their new Merchandise Manager Mike Seamon is profiled in the
TAMPA TRIBUNE.  Nutmeg Mills VP/Licensed Product Marketing Skip
Ruffkess:  "The hard part for the Devil Rays now is to keep the
name in front of people.  There are no players to feature on
products" (Joel Poiley, TAMPA TRIBUNE, 7/9)....The Collegiate
Licensing Company will be the licensing representative for the
Pigskin Classic, one of two preseason football games managed by
NACDA.  This year's game on August 26 will be between the
Michigan and Virginia (CLC).
