     Yankees caps and jackets are the "hottest selling  sports
gear" in Hungary -- even though the game "is virtually unknown
there and jackets cost nearly one week's salary" (GQ, 7/95
issue)....Mitre reports that sales of their soccer balls are up
40% for the first quarter of '95, compared to last year (SPORTING
GOODS BUSINESS, 6/95)...
     The CISL has set up a 24-hour newsline to provide the latest
     scores and news.  The number is (818) 906-7542 (CISL)....
     Nike shot another version of their Pete Sampras and Andre
     Agassi street game ad, this one in London's Trafalgar Square
     (WASHINGTON POST, 6/25).  Also on the tennis front, "ET"
     profiled the promotional shots Agassi and Sampras are doing
     for NBC's Wimbledon coverage (ET, 6/23)....USA TODAY's "Ad
     Watch" surveyed consumers on ads from Pizza Hut, including
     one with Dennis Rodman and David Robinson.  83% rated the
     campaign as somewhat or very effective (USA TODAY, 6/26)....
     A-B has signed a one-year deal with MTV for commercial time
     on such shows as MTV Sports, after being off the network for
     three years (INSIDE MEDIA, issue)....PowerAde is stepping up
     its support of the AVP by sponsoring the PowerAde serving
     challenge, where players will share $80,000 in prize money
     based on their serve percentage (PowerAde)....Arrowhead Pond
     of Anaheim announced the release of 250 "Sports Pak Seats"
     that go on sale this morning on a first-come, first-serve
     basis.  It will guarantee the same seats for Mighty Ducks,
     Splash indoor soccer, Clippers, and all other events at the
     facility.  They are located on the Club Concourse level with
     waiter/waitress service.  The seats cost $4,000 and are sold
     on an annual basis (Mighty Ducks).
