Turner Broadcasting executives have "narrowed their options" to three locations for a new arena for the Hawks and possibly an NHL franchise, according to the ATLANTA CONSTITUTION. Henry Unger and Maria Saporta report that Turner officials have ruled out renovating the Omni, and are concentrating on a location downtown, a site in Doraville, and a north Fulton location. Turner officials are in the process of "sorting out the facts and figures" of the three sites before presenting them to company chief Ted Turner who will have the final decision. Turner: "Personally, I hope it is downtown or near downtown" (Unger & Saporta, ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 6/11).
