BASKETBALL'S MADONNA STRIKES A POSE

     In cover-boy DENNIS RODMAN's interview with SPORTS
ILLUSTRATED this week, the Spurs' forward says he "will be in
show business" some day, adding, "But I'm not going to play some
weak-ass basketball player.  That would be stupid."  SI's Michael
Silver writes that "an agent that put together Pulp Fiction
thinks Rodman would be a classic Quentin Tarantino villain."
Rodman says he is "talking with Warner Bros. and Disney about big
projects" (SI, 5/29 issue).  USA TODAY's Michael Heistand reports
on what various management experts would do about Rodman's on/off
court behavior.  (USA TODAY, 5/25).  Interviewed during last
night's Rockets-Spurs game, NBA Commissioner David Stern said of
the SI piece:  "I only read Sports Illustrated for the hockey and
golf news" (TNT, 5/24).
