WTA TO INTRODUCE NEW LOGO FOR A NEW LOOK AS TOUR TURNS 25

     The WTA Tour will unveil a new logo this summer as the
organization celebrates its 25th anniversary.  The Tour is
working with their licensing agent IMG and Sean Michael Edwards
Design in New York on the new look.  WTA Tour CEO Anne Person-
Worcester said the new logo is being designed in connection with
the Tour's new licensing and merchandising program:   "The new
logo will assist us in attracting new and younger fans while
still retaining our established fan base.  There has always been
a demand for 'official' women's tennis merchandise."  David
Mitchell, of IMG's VP/Licensing Division, is working with the
Tour in developing its licensing program (WTA Tour).
