NBC SPORTS HELPS DRUM UP PARTICIPATION IN HOOP-IT- UP
Published April 20, 1995
This past weekend, NBC Sports renewed its promotion efforts designed to increase entries into Hoop-It-Up, a joint grassroots program between the network and Streetball Partners. NBC debuted its '95 promos for the three-on-three tournament during Saturday's Heat/Magic game and continued through Sunday's regional openers and national Bulls/Knicks game. The promos included a 900 number where people could call to get information and sign up for local Hoop-It-Up tourneys. According to Streetball Partners VP of Marketing Tad Brown, the promos generated 2,000 calls through the 900 service (Streetball Partners).
