WEST COAST NBA TEAMS DEAL WITH ARENA ISSUES

CLIPPERS AT THE POND: The Clippers have submitted an
application with the NBA Board of Governors to add two games at
Anaheim's Arrowhead Pond for '95-96. The team played six games
in Orange County this season, and averaged 17,783. In games at
their primary home, the L.A. Sports Arena, the team averaged
8,583 per game. The team will also play two preseason games in
Anaheim (WASHINGTON POST, 4/15).
WARRIORS GO AHEAD WITH IMPACT STUDY: The Warriors will move
forward with plans for an environmental impact report at Rincon
Hill in San Francisco, a proposed site for their new arena.
Warriors Owner Christopher Cohan said the team will also look
into "other possibilities," including a site near the current
Oakland Coliseum, a Mission Bay site where the MLB Giants hope to
build an entertainment center and stadium, and possibly sharing
the San Jose Arena, operated by the Sharks (Glenn Dickey, SAN
FRANCISCO CHRONICLE, 4/15).
