HBO EXECS PREVIEW NEW SPORTS MAGAZINE SHOW
In a private screening in Washington, DC, Time Warner Sports President SETH ABRAHAM and HBO Sports Senior VP & Exec Producer ROSS GREENBURG debuted HBO's new quarterly magazine show, "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel." Also present were "Real Sports" reporters FRANK DEFORD and SONJA STEPTOE. Abraham said the aim is to have the show on a monthly schedule in '96. He and Greenburg also noted that since HBO's ties with pro sports are limited, no subject is out of bounds -- including boxing and Wimbledon. Abraham stressed the show's success will not be tied to ratings, but to "credibility" (THE DAILY). "Real Sports" airs April 2.
