ACOG ANNOUNCES FINAL DETAILS FOR TICKET BUYERS

     ACOG yesterday announced final details on how to purchase
tickets for the '96 Games.  Ticket brochures will be available
May 1 and are expected to be available at grocery stores and Home
Depot's.  Although there are 11 million tickets -- more than L.A.
and Barcelona combined -- around half of the events are expected
to sell out in the first two months.  ACOG's "FairTix" computer
system will be used to select winners and assign seats for events
that sell out by June 30 (Melissa Turner, ATLANTA CONSTITUTION,
3/17).
     ROMA 2004?  Rome (Italy, not GA) Mayor Francesco Rutelli,
Italian Olympic Committee President Mario Pescante and IAAF
President Primo Nebiolo met with IOC President Juan Antonio
Samaranch yesterday to discuss Rome's chances to host the 2004
Summer Games.  Nebiolo: "The idea of Rome hosting the first
Olympic Games of the third millennium got off to a very good
start today" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 3/17).
