NAMES IN THE NEWS

     ESPN's CHRIS BERMAN announced his intention to put together
a "consortium" to buy the Rams and move them to Connecticut.  The
team would play in the Yale Bowl until a new stadium could be
constructed in Hartford.  Berman on the Yale Bowl:  "Grass
fields, drains beautifully, great tailgating" ("Sunday
SportsDay," 12/18)....Reebok Int'l VP of Information Systems TOM
TRAINER was chosen as INFORMATION WEEK's "Technology Chief of the
Year."  Initiatives by Trainer include:  videoconferencing,
computer-aided design, the Internet, and laptops for the sales
force.  Reebok has formed its own information network, even
allowing the company to communicate with its ad agency, Leo
Burnett, in Chicago over its "infobahn."  Trainer:  "We send ads
back and forth, open up the video where its flagged by an icon,
listen to spoken comments, and make the changes.  No more tapes
through the mail" (INFORMATION WEEK, 12/26 issue). ....DOUG
FLUTIE will serve as an analyst on CBS' broadcast of the Sun Bowl
on December 30 (CBS Sports).
