ATLANTA SEEKS $10 MILLION FROM ACOG TO COVER BILLS

The city of Atlanta wants Olympic organizers to "establish a
$10 million umbrella account to repay the city for its costs
associated with the '96 Games." ACOG needs to approve the funds
that would cover "feeding city firefighters, to setting up
computer linked command posts." The city would send ACOG a
running tab of expenses to be covered by the fund, whose balance
would not dip below $10M, enabling the "city to make withdrawals
on a pay-as-you-go basis" (Lyle Harris, ATLANTA CONSTITUTION,
11/22).
