    Atlanta's Special Projects/Strategic Marketing Dir....Foot Locker
    VP/Gen Merchandise Manager JIM HARTMANN has been assigned to the
    new position of VP/GM Kids Foot Locker (BRANDWEEK, 10/10
    issue)....BOB EATON has been promoted to managing editor of ESPN
    and ESPN2, and VINCE DORIA has been named Assistant Managing
    Editor and News Director for both (HARTFORD COURTANT, 10/14).

  • KING IN THE RING WITH HUIZENGA?

         Boxing promotor DON KING wants to "join forces" with So. FL
    sports mogul WAYNE HUIZENGA to hold pro boxing events at Miami
    Arena.  King has proposed a bout between World Boxing Council
    super-lightweight champ Julio Cesar Chavez and Tony Lopez plus
    three other title fights in Dec. '94.  Huizenga Holdings owns 50%
    of Leisure Management, which runs the 15,000 seat arena.  The
    Chavez fight is "tentatively" scheduled for December 10 in Mexico
    City but King said he might change the arrangement if Huizenga
    agrees (Steve Wynche, MIAMI HERALD, 10/14).

         "Wayward hoops fans have jammed the phone lines" all week at
    UNLV ticket offices to pledge season ticket purchases if coach
    ROLLIE MASSIMINO leaves the school.  450 callers pledged $450,000
    total and one man put down $10,000 cash "in anticipation" of
    Massimino's removal (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 10/14)....New CBS/Fox
    Video's Sport and Fitness Products Marketing Dir LAURA SULLIVAN
    is developing promo activities for sports and fitness titles,
    including a January release of "Lucky Vanous:  The Ultimate Fat-
    Burning Workout."  LUCKY VANOUS is the Diet Coke model and
    Sullivan hopes the video will elicit soft drink and calendar
    promos (BRANDWEEK, 10/10 issue)....JACK NICKLAUS was in Little
    Rock this week to announce he will build a golf course on the
    grounds of the proposed Harrah's Music Resort.  The resort
    includes a casino and will be voted on through a constitutional
    amendment in this November's election (ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE,
