Suns Rolling Out Video Series For 50th Anniversary Season

The Suns tonight will begin activating around their 50th anniversary with the debut of a video content series called “Since '68” that will run during the team’s pregame TV coverage and across team digital channels. New content will be produced for each regular-season Suns game. The first installment, called “Suns at 50” and narrated by U.S. Sen. John McCain, is set to run tonight as the team opens its season against the Trail Blazers at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Other activations include a plan to refurbish 50 basketball courts in Phoenix and a series of in-arena “Decade Nights.” The Suns also have created a “Sole of PHX” art exhibit featuring 15 six-foot fiberglass basketball shoes painted by local artists.

“The connection of being the first professional franchise in the state is a special one and we want to focus on that,” said Suns President Jason Rowley. “The 50th anniversary resonates and gives us an opportunity in the market to allow people to reflect back and to allow us to tell some of our history to younger folks.”
