Stephen Ross Says NFL Making No Changes To Anthem Policy

The NFL has made no changes to its anthem policy following a meeting between owners and players, said Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross. Asked if players could continue kneeling during the anthem, he replied there were no changes to the policy that allows for that. The league and NFLPA shortly after put out a statement describing the more-than-four-hour meeting as productive. The statement reads, “NFL executives and owners joined NFLPA executives and player leaders to review and discuss plans to utilize our platform to promote equality and effectuate positive change. We agreed that these are common issues and pledged to meet again to continue this work together.”

With no change to the anthem policy, the question is now whether President Trump will begin his attacks against the league anew. The owners are currently meeting on their own, but given the joint statement with the NFLPA, it appears unlikely they would unilaterally impose an anthem policy change.
