ESPN Lines Up New Sponsors For ESPYs Hosted By Manning

The ESPYs air live tonight on ABC at 8:00pm ET, and ESPN has "added several new sponsors for this year's edition" such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Dove Men+Care, HBO's "Ballers," Maui Jim and Nationwide Insurance. Returning sponsors include Cadillac, Coors Light, Gatorade and Warner Bros., which will be promoting the new film "Dunkirk" with a "piece of custom content for the event" (BROADCASTINGCABLE.com, 7/10).

ESPYs host Peyton Manning said, “It's a lot like a game week. I can really relate to it. You do put a lot of time in preparing and rehearsing. ... I've been coming to this show for a long time.” Manning said attendees “absolutely” are worried the host will make fun of them, but “athletes, for the most part, have pretty thick skin.” Manning: “If I make fun of an athlete, at least I've kind of been there. When they get made fun of by like an unathletic comedian, it's kind of different.” ABC's Jimmy Kimmel, a past ESPYs host, said, “I'm trying to think of some examples.” Kimmel: “Will you wear a cup?” Manning: “I will, and a mouthpiece” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 7/11).
