Boston College Formally Hires Ohio State's Martin Jarmond As Next AD

Ohio State Deputy AD Martin Jarmond has "finalized a deal" to become the next Boston College AD, replacing Brad Bates, who "announced a career transition to a consultant as his contract neared expiration at the university." The 37-year-old Jarmond is "considered one of the country’s sharpest young administrators" and "brings an extensive background in both football and fundraising from stints at Ohio State and Michigan State." He will become the "youngest athletic director at the Power 5 level." Jarmond also "inherits a tenuous situation" at BC (SI.com, 4/20).

Jarmond is set to be honored tonight as part of this year's SBJ/SBD "Forty Under 40" class (THE DAILY).
