"The IOC is responsible for the integrity of the Olympics and keeping it functioning, and they’re not doing it. I know Scott Blackmun thinks more needs to be done by WADA and the IOC, but he’s not willing to get out and stand on a pulpit and say that because of the bid" – U.S. biathlete and former USOC athlete advisory council Chair Sarah Konrad, on her belief that not enough is being done to punish countries whose athletes take banned substances (NYTIMES.com, 2/27).

"What they're doing is largely inconsequential. It is, I think their own head, [the] head of WADA, says they catch like one percent of drug cheats. So it's like, it's just for show. It doesn't even do anything" – Recently retired U.S. runner Nick Symmonds, on efforts to combat doping in track and field (SPORTS.VICE.com, 2/27).

"(The draft results are) awesome. It grows the sport, it shows that we're diversifying, it's not just a predominantly white sport" – NWSL North Carolina Courage F Lynn Williams, after 11 out of 40 of the selections in last month's NWSL Draft were women of color (SPORTS.VICE.com, 2/27).
