NHL, NHLPA Close To Finalizing Games In China, Sweden

The NHL and NHLPA are "close to finalizing two international events next season – one in Sweden and one in China." Sources said that the league is "awaiting word" from the union on "whether they will approve two regular-season games" between the Avalanche and Senators, in Stockholm on Nov. 10-11, as well as two Kings-Canucks preseason games in China. The union is "discussing the events with players" and is "expected to report back to the league in the next two weeks with its decision" (ESPN.com, 2/3).
